We support the mission work of the Presbyterian Church USA at all levels through a General Mission pledge drawn from our general budget. We also support the mission work of our denomination through special offerings called One Great Hour of Sharing, Pentecost Offering, Peacemaking Offering, and Christmas Joy Offering.

“Give a family a fish, and you feed them for a day. Teach a family to fish, and you feed them for a lifetime.” Through Heifer International, we support the work of helping people help themselves. Heifer gives farm animals, along with training in the care of the animals, to families who can use the income from those animals to improve nutrition and health and to educate their children. Families who receive an animal give one of its offspring to another family in need.

Sometimes it’s not enough to send help; in those cases we go to help with our own hands. We’ve sent workers or work groups to several hospitals in Africa, to Reynosa, Mexico, to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, to Cedar Rapids after the floods, and to the Native American reservations in South Dakota. Although it may be difficult to arrange the time to go, this work is incredibly rewarding to those who do. Most say they gained more spiritually and intellectually than they gave through their work.

We also have speakers describing worthy projects, such as Buey Tut with Aqua Africa, which uses global church financing to build water wells in South Sudan, which are then maintained with local resources.
