John Hansen - Senior Pastor and Head of Staff

Pastor John is unapologetically Midwestern. Born and raised in Storm Lake (the City Beautiful) in northwest Iowa, he is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. After a stint in broadcasting in Mitchell, South Dakota (home of the world famous Corn Palace) and Iowa, he followed the call to ministry serving as associate pastor in Jefferson City Missouri. He has been head of staff at PCM since 1999. Pastor John is passionate about sailing and college athletics (particularly the Hawkeyes), woodworking and theologians whose last names begin with the letter “B.”

Sara Tonje - Associate Pastor

Associate Pastor Sara Tonje joined the PCM ministry in December of 2002.  Her undergrad is from Lewis and Clark College, Portland Oregon (a Presbyterian affiliated college) and her M.Div is from Princeton Theological Seminary.  She was ordained in 1999.  Before PCM she was a solo pastor serving a church in St. Joseph, Missouri.  Before ordained ministry she  worked in international development in Nepal for six years, and directed a pre-college math and science program for American Indians for six years, and served for a summer in the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, Africa.  She is married and the mother of three sons.

Laurie Wilson - Director of Education

Laurie Wilson has worked as PCM’s Director of Christian Education since the fall of 2003. She has a degree in music education from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She is an ordained elder in the Presbyterian Church and a member of the Opera Omaha Chorus. Laurie and her husband, Dennis, have three daughters.

Due to the recent departure of Church Administrator Marilyn, Laurie will turn over most confirmation duties to Pastor Sara, and will have fewer responsibilities with B.L.A.S.T., as that program will be undergoing some changes in the fall. Laurie will take on the role of "chief communicator" and will produce the Sunday bulletin and The Voice, in addition to maintaining the PCM website.

Vickie Jones - Director of Music

Vickie has been the Director of Music at PCM since 1995. She has a degree in Music Education from Wayne State College, and taught music in public schools in Nebraska and Kansas. She teaches piano at her home, is married to Lamar Jones, and between them they have 5 children and one grandson.

Robin Pruitt - Church Administrator and Accountant

Robin Pruitt, Church Accountant, has been in her position since 1999 when she and her family moved to Omaha from Jefferson City, Missouri.  Robin was previously employed by the State of Missouri Legislature as a Performance Auditor, and prior to that she was the Director of the Internal Audit Program for the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.  She and her husband Al have two sons, Andrew pursuing a degree in Computer System Security at ITT Technical Institute, and Eric who is in the US Marine Corps and is learning to work on jet engines.

Robin has increased her hours and will take on the administrative
aspects of the office, as well as continuing as Church Accountant. She will sit in the reception area and be the first person encountered by anyone entering the office. Her duties will include answering phones, maintaining the calendar, ordering supplies, scheduling the building space, preparing Session packets and mailings, and serving as liaison to the Building & Grounds Committee.

Carol Meyer - Organist

Carol Meyer brings many years of experience in the area of church music to her work as Organist, Choir Accompanist and Director of Bell Choirs at PCM. She has a B.F.A. in Organ Performance, a M.S. in Guidance and Counseling and training and experience in Handbell Performance. She taught Elementary Vocal Music in the Omaha Public Schools for twenty years and now enjoys focusing her musical efforts on worship through music at PCM.
